Acknowledging Jane (Austen)
In a truth universally acknowledged, a single man in possession of a good fortune, may be in want of a wife. Or, at the least, a mate, possibly another man. How perplexing, this modern world.
Fortune transforms the ugliest holder into a glorious creature. The converse remains true, as well. The most handsome of creatures, rendered penniless, assumes the lowest station.
How perplexing our looks and our fortunes or lack thereof. Come close to hear something true. Fortune, looks and pennies come and go. If not in this life, than another.
